About me

I’m an accredited counsellor living and working in Edinburgh, seeing clients in comfortable, private rooms beside Leith Links. I am a volunteer counsellor for Cruse Bereavement Care and I teach counselling at the University of Aberdeen.

I hold a postgraduate diploma in psychodynamic and person-centred counselling from the University of Edinburgh
and I have a degree in psychology. I also hold a certificate in counselling supervision from the Northern Guild.

My memoir Nothing Ever Happens in Wentbridge came out in 2012 and I am happy to offer clients therapeutic writing if that is something they would like to try. Writing is a huge part of my life and I know from personal experience how helpful it can be.

I am an accredited member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and COSCA (Scotland’s professional body for counsellors and psychotherapists). I abide by both organisations’ ethical codes. I am fully insured by the Psychologists Protection Society (PPS Trust) for the work that I do.
